The Blog...
It's Friday!! I'm definitely ready for the weekend...even though I'm really not doing much - I just want to chill out and watch some football tomorrow! As for tonight, I believe Uncorked is in order...but we'll see.I woke up this morning thinking about how much time I've wasted worrying about stupid crap in my life. I guess we all have little thoughts of "reforming" our own lives, and that's not what I'm planning on doing. Mainly, because we never actually change things that we say we will. I am, however, going to stop worrying about pointless crap. I have a great life - a great family, wonderful friends, and most importantly, a God who is so gracious and giving and has done nothing but blessed my life every day and I seem to always take that for granted.
So, for today's song: This song was a big hit in the 80s, particularly when the movie Pretty Woman was released, as it was on the soundtrack for that movie. Originally performed by Go West, this song was re-made in late 2007 by New Found Glory.

( 0 / 0 )Do you ever have mornings where you have so much energy and you're in such a good mood? If you know me...that almost never happens (I'm not a morning person!). However, I'm not sure what it was about this morning, but I got up right when my alarm went off (which never happens!), went outside and played with Lady and really enjoyed the morning air. I think I just slept really good last night so I had so much energy this morning that I just popped right out of bed! I mean, I even had time to iron my shirt this morning! I usually do the same thing most people do that are in a hurry -- put it in the dryer with a damp shirt and let the dryer steam get the wrinkles out!!
On my way in to work this morning, I was in a classic rock mood, so I flipped through my iPhone and found one of my favorite Aerosmith songs and jammed out to it! So, for today's music video, we're stepping back 30 years...

( 0 / 0 )This weekend was just what I have needed for a while now! I took the RV down to Auburn Friday night and went out to SkyBar when I got there and I couldn't walk two feet without seeing someone that I hadn't seen in well over a year! It really was nice catching up with so many people!
Saturday, we all tail gated at the RVs and had a great time! The game wasn't bad - but Auburn's offense was a little disappointing. They'll hopefully work out some of those kinks this week at practice.
Sunday, I brought the RV home and we all went to the lake (Russ, Adrianne, Andy, Kirbey, Freddy, Greg, and Amy). We had a great time...minus the fact that the last person that used the boat (cough cough my sister) left the boat uncovered, nasty, bilge full of water, and absolutely no fuel (we got 5 minutes down the lake and ran out of gas).
Later that night, we were in the other boat and the rain creeped up on us fast! We found out just how fast a 23' Cobalt boat can go when you're trying to outrun a storm! I think I was knocking on 65mph! 496 cubic inches of motor really helps in that situation...
Yesterday, we came home and I had to cut the grass (it was getting to look rough again). Afterwards, I watched the Tennessee game (what a game!) and went to bed. Overall...a really great weekend!
Today's music video is a song that I really have taken to liking a lot lately. The first song that I ever heard from Matt Nathanson was "Laid" - and it was the intro music to "American Wedding" - the last of the American Pie movies. Andy Broome also introduced me to a lot more of his music a couple of years ago.

( 0 / 0 )I found this on YouTube...now of course the video is sped up by 2x (everything is twice normal frame rate) so she's not actually moving that fast, but it's still a pretty awesome video!
The song is "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" by Daft Punk. You probably recognize the song from Kanye West's recent hit "Stronger" - a song created from sampling this song.

( 0 / 0 )A close friend of mine sent me this video and it really inspired me to share it with others!
FYI - the following video is about 30 minutes long, but if you have time to watch it, I recommend it. Whether you're single, in a relationship, or married, it doesn't matter. The title is "Christ Centered Relationships" but the message applies to all walks of life. It is a powerful message and I really think you'd be happy you watched it....
